• ≈1912–62, Salesman, Joske’s Department Store, San Antonio, Texas

• 1920s, began painting; displaying his art at the department where he worked.

• Alexander Joske arranged and funded Hoppe’s tutelage under José Arpa.

• Hoppe was also a student of Joyce Organ and Bess K. Pyle.

• 1981, Dies in San Antonio, Texas
