Summer in Houston typically arrives earlier than most parts of the state, and following suit, Reaves | Foltz Fine Art is proud to announce our most exciting summer show before the solstice hits. In the twelfth installation of The Texas Aesthetic, we are pleased to present a group exhibition spanning nearly one-hundred years of Texas Art.
This exhibition will feature selections of Early Texas Art, including works by Charles Peter Bock, Harold Phenix, Frank Reaugh, Porfirio Salinas, and Elizabeth Walmsley, among others. For those interested in the trending genre of Mid-Century Texas Art, an array of fantastic works will be on display including those by Dorothy Hood, Martha Mood, Bill Reily, McKie Trotter, Dick Wray, and more.
A considerable focus of the group exhibition will highlight Contemporary artists living and working in the great state of Texas. Fresh works by Randy Bacon, Mary Baxter, David Caton, Fidencio Duran, Pat Gabriel, Noe Perez, and Jeri Salter will be available, but likely not for long. Visitors to the gallery will also be able to view stellar works by Houston Contemporary artists Lee Benner, Ibsen Espada, Karl E. Hall, Jonathan Paul Jackson, Ken Mazzu, Erik Sprohge, Roy Vinson Thomas, and Frank X Tolbert 2.
Whether you appreciate a quiet pastoral landscape, a monumental Frio River scene, or an abstracted memory of Austin’s limestone cliffs, there is something for everyone to appreciate.
